3. Jared Goff will outscore Drew Brees

Drew Brees is a surefire Hall of Fame quarterback who may end up winning the MVP award this season. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be the highest scoring quarterback in his game against the Rams on Sunday. We believe that honor is going to go to Jared Goff instead.

For the record, we don’t think Brees is going to be a bad play against the Rams. Los Angeles’ defense has some talent, but the Saints should be able to turn this game into a track meet. You can safely expect both Brees and Goff to put up good numbers.

With that being said, we think the Rams can slow down the New Orleans offense just a bit. On the other hand, we think the Saints defense is going to be overwhelmed by Sean McVay’s scheme. That means both Todd Gurley and Goff should put up video game type numbers.

Don’t underestimate how much the absence of Marcus Davenport is going to limit the New Orleans pass rush. They gave up a ton of draft capital to acquire him for a reason. Sean Payton was concerned he didn’t have enough edge rushers without him. He won’t in this game and he’ll pay for it by watching the Rams offense march up and down the field.
