Joe Harris has gone for a lumberjack look this season, but his beard and scruffy hair aren’t stopping him from making all the 3-pointers. The Nets can and do run him around the court, trying to create space for him to get up jumpers. It should be surprising when he misses a shot. It’s a little frustrating that he attempts 2-pointers, because at that rate, he should be putting up 3-pointers like Max Hooper, the college basketball legend that attempted 490 career field goals, and only 11 of those came inside the arc.
Curry? Sure, he’s good. We know this. But Garrett Temple? This is his ninth season in the league, and he’s never even shot 40 percent for an entire season. I say keep letting them fly. The Grizzlies are a team that won’t get a lot of attention, but if they have a player shooting 50 percent from behind the arc, that makes them just that much more entertaining.
Blake Griffin deserves an honorable mention as well, because for a big man to be shooting nearly 50 percent on threes, after having added that element to his game four years ago, well, that’s worthy of an award on its own.
Honorable mention: Khris Middleton (31-61, 50.8%), Buddy Hield (22-45, 48.9%), Blake Griffin (19-39, 48.7%)
