Players costing $6,667 or under

Rodney Hood (at CHA – $6,000): Needs 24.8 fantasy points. Hood continues to deliver and he’s starting to do a bit more than score, which is great for his value. Hood will continue to get big minutes as the Cavaliers go with a youth movement. If he continues to do more than score, he’s going to be a strong addition moving forward. Diagnosis: He’s playing well and someone has to contribute in Cleveland.

Rodney McGruder (at ATL – $5,700): Needs 23.6 fantasy points. McGruder has dropped off in the past couple of games, but this is a matchup begging to be taken advantage of. The Hawks are dreadful and the Heat, while inconsistent, at least have something going as a team. Expect McGruder to get himself together in this matchup. If he doesn’t, then it might be time to move on. But I’m willing to give him this one. Diagnosis: Great matchup for a guy with a high ceiling. He’ll get back on track.

Malik Monk (vs CLE – $4,400): Needs 18.2 fantasy points. Monk has been solid for the most part this season. He’s coming off a 24 fantasy point performance against the Thunder on Nov. 1. Monk will get his looks against the Cavaliers and I expect him to make those looks because he’s an excellent shooter. Diagnosis: Reliable at the salary and has big scoring potential against a great matchup.
