5. Wide receiver: Davante Adams vs. New England Patriots

Maybe it’s just one way of doing things, but stacking quarterbacks with one of their main targets in a good matchup is so exciting to see. Davante Adams is without a doubt Aaron Rodgers’ biggest weapon. With a lackluster run game, the Packers rely on Rodgers’ golden arm and Adams’ soft hands each and every week.

Adams this season has 690 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 52 receptions. His volume will continue to be high which is exactly what we like in fantasy football. His 98 receiving yards per game and seven receptions both rank fifth amongst wide receivers. Adams has been that perfect matchup nightmare for opposing defenses this season. Week 9 at Foxborough will be no different.

The New England Patriots, though good, do have a lot of weaknesses defensively. They allow 382 yards per game to opposing offenses. Their 277 passing yards per game allowed is 27th-ranked in the league. New England is a defense you can score on early and often. Especially when you have playmakers like Adams and Rodgers at your disposal. Get your popcorn ready for Sunday Night Football.

Through Rodgers’ injuries this year and the lack of a lethal run game, Adams has still found a way to be very productive. Adams has been held without a touchdown in only two games this season. Last week against the Los Angeles Rams was one of them. Adams still caught five balls for 133 yards. This kind of production is always good to see, especially when whoever you play doesn’t find pay dirt.

Prediction: 100 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
