7. Tight end: Kyle Rudolph vs. Detroit Lions

This is going to be a fun player to feature this week. Many times in fantasy football, you’re faced with a matchup or two that makes you question your players. Week 9 is the perfect scenario for the ever-forgotten and quiet Kyle Rudolph to make his presence felt. The Detroit Lions boast a really good pass defense, which is why I chose Rudolph in particular to feature.

Not only is this a home game for Rudolph but more importantly this is a rivalry game. These games get wild and unpredictable. Rivalry games are so much fun to watch unfold. These teams know each other so well and they plan so carefully that the unexpected happens. Rudolph is a prime candidate to be the best tight end in Week 9.

Rudolph is due for a monster game. We don’t mind taking a carefully thought out analytical fantasy football shot in these matchups. We need these types of bold predictions. Kyle Rudolph will score not only once, but twice in this contest. Yes, his volume is decent and he’s a steady cog for the offense in tough yardage situations. But Rudolph did have a touchdown grab negated by a penalty in Week 8.

The Vikings are finally showing signs of life again for Rudolph’s utilization. Just trust the weird fantasy matrix in this one. Rudolph has caught 32 balls for 321 receiving yards and two scores. The Lions do give up 367 yards per game. They are in no way, shape or form invincible. Play Rudolph, be aggressive and show your buddies how fantasy savvy you can be. Plus Adam Thielen has a lot of hype going into this game. He could possibly break former Lions receiver Calvin Johnson’s 100 yard game streak.

I bet the Lions don’t let that happen. Cousins will focus elsewhere and that elsewhere is Kyle Rudolph. Remember where you read it first.

Prediction: 100 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
