16. Iowa (L 36-38 PUR) – The Hawkeyes lost on a 25-yard field goal with eight seconds on the clock. They’re out of the Big Ten West race and likely out of the top 25.

17. Texas (L 42-41 WVU) – Sam Ehlinger had more than 400 yards of offense and four touchdowns but a touchdown and two-point conversion by West Virginia has the Longhorns needing to root for them to beat Oklahoma in their regular season finale to get in the Big 12 Championship Game for a rematch with Will Grier and the Mountaineers.

18. Mississippi State (W 45-2 La Tech) – Nick Fitzgerald threw four touchdowns to four different receivers and ran for 107 in the tune-up before traveling to Alabama next week.

19. Syracuse (W 41-21 Wake) – Eric Dungey threw for 157 yards and ran for a game-high 119 yards and had one of five rushing touchdowns for the Orange. The offense has been great all year but credit the defense for forcing three turnovers that led to 10 points and had six sacks.

20. Texas A&M (L 24-28 AU) – The Aggies blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead, giving up the game-winning touchdown with 1:41 left to drop their fourth game in Jimbo Fisher’s first year.

21. NC State (W 47-21 FSU) – Ryan Finley threw for three touchdowns and NC State had five sacks as they snap their two-game losing streak.

22. Boston College (W 31-21 VT)  – Travis Levy ran for two touchdowns as Boston College outscored Virginia Tech 24-7 in the second half. They’ll host College GameDay next Saturday for their game with Clemson.

23. Fresno State (W 48-3 UNLV) – The Bulldogs defense barely flinched and Marcus McMaryion threw for two touchdowns as Fresno State maintain their one-game lead over San Diego State in the Mountain West’s West division.

24. Iowa State (W 27-3 KU) – Brock Purdy is developing into a really good quarterback for Matt Campbell. The freshman threw three touchdowns, including a pair to Hakeem Butler who had five receptions for 164 yards.

25. Virginia (L 23-13 Pitt) On a sloppy Friday night, Virginia was outrushed 254-44 in the loss to Pitt. They’re still alive for a division title and the right to get destroyed by Clemson in the ACC Championship Game though.
