High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Jonas Valancias (at LAL – $6,100): Needs 27.2 fantasy points. As always with Valanciunas, he may not pay a lot of minutes, but he’ll put up numbers for as many minutes as he does play. He’s been over 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games. With the Lakers lack of size, he should be able to rack up easy points and rebounds. Diagnosis: Best of the value bunch by far. Fairly reliable despite minutes concerns.

Pau Gasol (vs ORL – $4,800): Needs 21.4 fantasy points. There’s not much to like from Gasol due to playing time concerns, but he’s been effective when he does get his share of minutes. Still, you’re taking a pretty big risk because there’s no guarantee he’ll get enough minutes to produce. Diagnosis: Low cost, but still risky. If you think he’ll get minutes, he can do a bit of everything and be a decent enough option.

Mohamed Bamba (at SA – $4,700): Needs 21 fantasy points. Bamba has been like most rookies: inconsistent. He’s shown some flashes and maybe he gets some solid run against the Spurs, but his minutes are not guaranteed and his rookie struggles won’t go away this early. Diagnosis: Low cost with the potential to step up, but risky.
