High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Tyus Jones (at POR – $4,800): Needs 20.1 fantasy points. If Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler don’t play, Jones is a must have on Sunday. Even if it’s just Rose, along with Jeff Teague, who sit this is great spot for Jones to make an impact. The salary is low, he’ll play big minutes, and he’s a proven contributor when he does play. Diagnosis: Circumstances could dictate a big night for Jones. Grab him if injuries deplete the Timberwolves.

Fred VanVleet (at LAL – $4,600): Needs 19.3 fantasy points. VanVleet looked healthy in his return, posting 27.6 fantasy points against the Suns in 20 minutes. It was the Suns, but it’s not like the Lakers have done much better on defense. VanVleet was a great low cost option last season and I expect more of the same this year. Diagnosis: Low cost, reliable, does have a high ceiling as the leader of the best bench in the league.

Patty Mills (vs ORL – $3,700): Needs 15.5 fantasy points. You can take your pick between the two Spurs point guards. Mills has the higher veiling, as evident by his 34.9 fantasy point effort against the Pelicans on Saturday. But Forbes has been more consistent this season and gets the more guaranteed playing time with the starters. One of the Spurs guards will perform against a weak Magic team. Diagnosis: If you want to save and get some good value, flip a coin on the Spurs point guards.
