Melvin Gordon, NFL, Chargers, Raiders
CARSON, CA – SEPTEMBER 30: Running back Melvin Gordon #28 of the Los Angeles Chargers runs the ball by cornerback Greg Mabin #26 of the San Francisco 49ers at StubHub Center on September 30, 2018 in Carson, California. (Photo by Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty Images) /

Melvin Gordon, Los Angeles Chargers

Stats: 579 rushing yards, 7 touchdowns, 289 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns (7 games)

Melvin Gordon missed the London game against the Tennessee Titans and then went on a much-needed bye week as he was nursing a hamstring injury. Looks like the bye week and extra rest helped Gordon heal from whatever kept him from playing against the Titans in Week 7.

Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley and Kareem Hunt are essentially the same running back. They all can play receiver when needed but also run between the tackles. Gordon was on a hot streak before his ailment and bye week. Week 9 he looked just as explosive ripping off three carries of over 20 yards against the Seattle Seahawks. Gordon looks to be of full health once again for his Week 10 date against the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders are dead last against the rush this season, which is why Gordon gets the nod to be featured this week in Best Lineup. As stated above he can do it all out of the backfield. Let’s just hope the Raiders don’t decide to actually play defense in Week 10. Nonetheless, Gordon will have a productive day.

In his absence, the Chargers looked mediocre at best on offense and one-dimensional. If not for a blown call by Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, the Chargers would have probably lost in Week 7.

Prediction: 150 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, 2 total touchdowns
