Lineups

Quarterbacks

START: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: 2,560 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 48 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns

Ben Roethlisberger proved us all wrong and balled out in a road game in Baltimore. Crazy, right? Big Ben hosts the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football  in what should be a mildly high-scoring affair. Always take Big Ben at home.

Sit: Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

Stats: 2,187 passing yards, 23 touchdowns

Andrew Luck has been great in his return to the gridiron. Even in a home contest we still feel like Luck will regress a bit against a division rival who just so happens to enjoy beating Indianapolis. Not saying he can’t be productive in any given matchup, but play it safe in Week 10.

Running backs

Start: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears

Stats: 439 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns, 87 receiving yards

Jordan Howard has been on fire the past three weeks, scoring four touchdowns. Week 10 against the Detroit Lions’ 30th-ranked rush defense, Howard seems like a no-brainer for at least one touchdown and 50 yards. Maybe sprinkle in 50 receiving yards just to make it juicy.

Sit: Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals

Stats: 509 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns, 115 receiving yards, 1 touchdown.

We whiffed on sitting Mixon in Week 8 against Tampa Bay. Maybe we will whiff again. The Saints do boast the league’s top-ranked rush defense. Something to keep your eyes on. Mixon could become a victim of game flow. Mixon is a good running back on a unbalanced offense. Play it safe.

Wide receivers

Start: Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals

Stats: 620 receiving yards, 5 touchdowns

Tyler Boyd has scored a touchdown in each of the last three games. Andy Dalton has proven he will be looking for his young receiver early and often. Especially now that A.J. Green has been spotted in a walking boot, Boyd will look to take over No.1 duties in his place against a terrible Saints pass defense.

Sit: Julian Edelman, New England Patriots

Stats: 251 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns (4 games)

Julian Edelman has been a bright spot for a somewhat crowded and beat-up Patriots offense. His volume since returning has been solid. Week 10 he gets the Titans eighth-ranked pass defense. Play it safe this Sunday and pick a better matchup if you can.

Tight ends

Start: Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers

Stats: 218 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns

Greg Olsen has been on fire and looks to continue his hot streak of three games with a touchdown. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense ranks 22nd against the pass. Cam Newton seems to be looking for the veteran tight end more often than not. Play Olsen and feel good about it.

Sit: O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Stats: 472 receiving yards, 5 touchdowns

We love O.J. Howard and his high-volume capacity. At some point he always hits a wall. Until he can prove to be more consistent, sit him against a Washington defense looking for redemption after last week’s big loss to rival Carolina. Washington’s 10th-ranked defense will look to shut him down and get a much needed win.
