Ito Smith, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Ito Smith had his best game of the season in the Atlanta Falcons Week 9 victory over Washington, as he turned 10 rushing attempts into 60 yards and a touchdown, adding a catch for four yards for good measure.

With Tevin Coleman, who caught two touchdown passes from Matt Ryan to lead the team, absolutely dominating in the passing game, Smith isn’t much of a factor as a receiver. But the rookie offers serious upside as a threat to score touchdowns on the ground, seeing as how he has four rushing scores in 2018 on just 49 total carries. That means he averages  a touchdown on every 12 rushing attempts.

Smith has scored four touchdowns in his last five games, which more than makes up for his lack of a role in the Falcons passing game. Coleman is the true star out of the backfield in this offense, but with “feature back” Devonta Freeman on injured reserve, Smith’s place as the current No. 2 guy behind Coleman is secure.

Next week, Smith will take on a Cleveland Browns defense that generally struggles against running backs, so another touchdown could be in the cards for Smith against a Browns team that allowed 37 last week.
