Joe Montana Division

4. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 2)

Rodgers is still playing like a first-ballot Golden Jacketer, but he’s looked almost despondent in recent weeks. Maybe it’s the lack of supporting cast. Maybe it’s Mike McCarthy’s schemes. Maybe it’s being sick and tired of dragging a tired team to relevancy. Regardless, Rodgers belongs in this division, but Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes must move up.

3. Tom Brady (LW: 4)

Brady has been playing without Rob Gronkowski and Sony Michel, and yet the Patriots continue to roll on to the tune of 7-2. The Patriots are winning because Brady, at 41 years old, is still playing elite ball. The five-time champion is on pace for more than 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns.

2. Patrick Mahomes (LW: 3)

Mahomes deserves to be here — if not higher. The Chiefs have finally found their man for the long haul, evidenced by his league-high 29 touchdown passes and 2,901 yards. It’s been a tour de force for Mahomes in his first year as a starter, sending shockwaves through the league.

1. Drew Brees (LW: 1)

The Saints might be the best team in football, and Brees is playing at the peak of his powers. Against the Rams, Brees was slinging the ball all over the yard, ending the afternoon with four touchdowns and a signature win. All told, the Purdue product has 18 touchdown passes and one interception.
