The Denver Broncos looked to throw in the towel during the trade deadline, as they sent star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans. On Sunday, the Broncos took on Thomas and the Texans, losing 19-17, as the coaching staff once again proved to be too passive, sending the team to another loss.

Case Keenum was brought in to bring some stability to the quarterback position, but he has not had the kind of magic he showed last season with the Minnesota Vikings. If the Broncos want to move forward as an organization, they need a long-term solution at the position, and they made decide to go that route with their first round pick in 2019.

John Elway and his staff have missed before in the first round when selecting a quarterback, see Paxton Lynch, so they will definitely be doing their homework. When it comes to signal-callers in 2019, there are a few that could go in the first round, and Drew Lock from Missouri is definitely one of them.

Lock has the arm to make all the throws at the next level, and has picked apart SEC defenses during his time with the Tigers. Elway loves guys who can put the ball down the field, and while Keenum could be good for a year or two in Denver, Lock is a guy who could be under center for the next ten seasons inside Mile High.
