Rivalry games highlight the best college football games of the week

(2) Clemson at (17) Boston College – 8:00 pm – FOX
In what may be the biggest game for Boston College in the past decade, the Eagles will host Clemson on Saturday with College Gameday on site.
After last weekends 77-16 victory over Louisville, Clemson is looking like the only team with even a slight chance to challenge Alabama. Not saying they will pose a challenge, but they seem to be the only hope for fans to see Alabama in a competitive game. Everyone knows the Clemson defense, led by their dominant defensive line, is one of the best in the country, but it’s the offense that has come around in recent weeks. Freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence has lived up to the five-star hype and helped the Tigers put up an average of 60 points per game over the past four weeks.
Boston College is led by star running back AJ Dillon, who is expected to play but has been battling some injuries. Having Dillon near 100 percent will be critical for the Eagles, who will look to pound the rock on the Clemson defense. Although that has been the game plan all season, executing it against the Tigers dominate front seven will be no easy task. On the year, Clemson has held opponents to 87.1 rushing yards per game and 2.2 yards per carry, which leads the nation. If Boston College plans to upset the Tigers, they must find a way to throw in some wrinkles to keep up offensively.
Clemson will lock up the ACC Atlantic Division with a victory over Boston College on Saturday. With Gameday on site, expect to see the Tigers make a statement with a dominating victory over the Eagles.
