FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – November 8, 2018
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at GS – $12,500): Needs 51.3 fantasy points. Giannis was down to 36.8 fantasy points against the Blazers on Nov. 6. He averaged 43.3 fantasy points in two games against the Warriors last season. All of that has me worried heading into Thursday. You have to be 100 percent certain when spending this much and I’m not 100 percent certain he gets 50 fantasy points. Diagnosis: I always love Giannis, but there are reasons not to love him on Thursday.
Kevin Durant (vs MIL – $10,800): Needs 44.4 fantasy points. Durant had 41.2 fantasy points against the Grizzlies on Nov. 5. He wasn’t great against the Bucks last season, although he only played 17 minutes in one game. Going up against Giannis is a tough matchup and the two could easily cancel each other, leaving more opportunities for the Splash Brothers. That said, the injury to Green could boost his defense and rebounding. Diagnosis: Typically reliable and maybe does more with Green out.
Danilo Gallinari (at POR – $6,700): Needs 27.5 fantasy points. Gallinari has been reliable this season, hitting value in 80 percent of his games. The Blazers are a tough matchup, but Gallinari should get his points while doing enough in other categories to boost his value. The ceiling isn’t too high, which is the only issue. Diagnosis: Consistent option despite the tough matchup.
