Players costing $6,667 or under

D’Angelo Russell (at DEN – $6,400): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. Russell has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s been up-and-down this season, but the minutes are typically there and he can do a little bit of everything. The Nuggets are a tough matchup, but this is a solid salary for a player of his caliber given the way he’s been playing. Diagnosis: Reliable at this salary.

Derrick Rose (at SAC – $6,000): Needs 24.9 fantasy points. I still don’t know how Rose isn’t a high salary guy based on his performances this season. The Kings have looked better, but I’m not doubting Rose at this point. He’s dominating this season in Minnesota and continues to look very healthy. Diagnosis: Keep taking him at this salary.

D.J. Augustin (vs WAS – $4,800): Needs 19.9 fantasy points. Augustin has been over 30 fantasy points in two of his last three games. He’s an inconsistent player, but the minutes are always there. This one is all about the matchup as I have no clue what the Wizards are doing. I don’t even know if the Wizards know what they are doing. I do know that they are dreadful on defense and Augustin can pick them apart. Diagnosis: Low-cost option who is playing well and has a great matchup.
