8. Tarik Cohen vs Detroit

The human joystick had an off week last week as Jordan Howard found the end zone twice. Bummer for fantasy fans who’ve loved Cohen’s ability to turn that flex position into a perfect addition to a great receiver core.

With three straight divisional matchups ahead, two against this Lions team, the Bears have to win games to stay ahead of Minnesota. At 5-3, finishing at 10-6 and in the playoffs is nowhere near out of the realm of possibility for Chicago. Cohen is a vital piece of that.

Cohen already has more touchdowns this year than his rookie year with four, including three receiving touchdowns. He’s had a touchdown in three of the last five games and before last week had 50-plus receiving yards in each of the four games prior. That includes a casual 121-yard receiving game against Tampa Bay and a 90 yard game against Miami.

Cohen’s big-play ability can’t go unnoticed and I fully expect him to get back on track this week against an average at best Lions pass defense. The two-headed monster rears it’s head at the right times and the Lions are a great kickstarter to jump back into divisional play. The Bears sit at 0-1 in the division after the heartbreaking opening loss to Green Bay but this Sunday at home against Detroit feels like a different story. Cohen is a no doubt flex play this week.
