7. Alvin Kamara vs Cincinnati

How does Kamara not live on this list? You know what, I’m calling it now, immortalized on the best matchups list: Alvin Kamara. How did Butch Jones almost ruin Kamara? Sorry, Tennessee fans you have it bad enough. I won’t ridicule you more for this one.

The Saints are humming, seriously. Kamara didn’t pull a Joe Horn but did casually drop another three-touchdown game in the win over the previously undefeated Rams. He’s untouchable at the moment and in the end won the Gurley showdown, at least for last week.

Kamara has 12 touchdowns on the year, nine on the ground and a trio through the air. Interesting, to me, side note: Every game where Kamara has had a receiving touchdown, he’s also had a rushing touchdown. That includes two of his three games with three touchdowns. Explosive doesn’t even say it best.

The Saints have so many weapons. That makes matchups interesting and I think benefits Kamara, even more, going into this week against Cincinnati. Could the back outdo a tremendous rookie season? He’s already at 490 yards on the ground and 427 through the air. That requires a few big outings over the last seven Saints outings but it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

The Bengals have given up 128.4 yards per game on the ground as well as a league-worst 319 yards per game through the air. Kamara does both well and the Bengals can’t cover everybody. I love this matchup this week.
