LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 09: Denver Nuggets Center Nikola Jokic (15) looks on before a NBA preseason game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on October 9, 2018 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. /

High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Nikola Jokic (vs HOU – $9,700): Needs 43.3 fantasy points. Jokic was down to 39.2 fantasy points against the Bucks on Nov. 11. I can’t figure out Jokic this season and that concerns me heading into Tuesday. He averaged 1.6 FPPM against the Rockets last season, which is a good sign heading into Tuesday. He just didn’t play quite enough minutes in two of those games. With improved defense, he should stay on the floor. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but he’s been all over the place this year. The matchup is very good.

Clint Capela (at DEN – $8,000): Needs 35.7 fantasy points. Capela managed just 29.9 fantasy points against the Pacers on Nov. 11. He’s been inconsistent this season, but that’s largely due to the salary. He’s going to produce at least 30 fantasy points, he just needs a bit more to justify the salary. He had 58 fantasy point game against the Nuggets last season, but he was also under 16 fantasy points in two other games. Diagnosis: Slight risk, decent reward.

Tristan Thompson (vs CHA – $6,100): Needs 27.2 fantasy points. Thompson has been over 40 fantasy points in two of his last three games. He had just 20.1 fantasy points against the Hornets on Nov. 3. Someone has to rebound for the Cavaliers and he’s the best option on the floor. He can also come away with easy points in the paint. Diagnosis: High ceiling and reliable, even if he wasn’t good against the Hornets ten days ago.
