2019 NFL mock draft: Broncos get QB in Drew Lock
By Brad Weiss
The New York Jets suffered their worst loss of the season on Sunday, as the hopeless Buffalo Bills went into Metlife Stadium and absolutely throttled them. The Jets have officially reached rock bottom, and it may get worse after the bye week, as head coach Todd Bowles is sitting on a scorching hot seat.
Last April, the Jets made the decision to move up in the 2018 NFL Draft and select USC quarterback Sam Darnold with the No. 3 overall pick. The hope is Darnold will become a star during his time in New York, but he has really struggled during his rookie season, and did not even start this past Sunday.
Darnold is playing behind a bad offensive line, and he has really no weapons to speak of in the passing game. No quarterback could succeed in that kind of situation, and while he may be a star eventually, this season is going to be one of survival for Darnold.
When it comes to their first round pick next April, the Jets could go a number of ways, but they may want to add an elite edge rusher to the mix. When it comes to pass rushers, Nick Bosa is the best of the bunch, but Clelin Ferrell is not too far behind. He would be a solid addition to this defense, which was rocked by Matt Barkley and the Bills this past Sunday.
