High Salary SF

Players costing over $6,667

LeBron James (at MIA – $12,100): Needs 49.5 fantasy points. As I’ve been saying when it comes to James, this season, I honestly don’t know on a game-to-game basis. He’s LeBron. But Lakers LeBron is just weird and not the guy we’ve seen in the past few seasons. At this salary, he needs to be great and he’s just not great every night right now. It’s LeBron, so the big game is always in him. But there continue to be red flags around him. Diagnosis: It’s LeBron. But it’s Lakers LeBron.

Kevin Durant (at SA – $11,500): Needs 47 fantasy points. Much like LeBron, the energy is just weird around Durant right now. He’ll continue to get the chance because he and Thompson are the only reliable options on the Warriors. But it also puts more pressure on him. And at this salary, he too needs to be great. I have more faith in him than LeBron. Diagnosis: It’s Durant. But it’s “we don’t need you. Leave.” Durant.

Josh Richardson (vs LAL – $7,500): Needs 30.7 fantasy points. Richardson was up to 35.8 fantasy points against the Pacers on Nov. 16. He’s still the best scorer on the Heat and they will continue to need his scoring. The Lakers defense is a mess and they are on a back-to-back. Teams also raise their level against the Lakers and I have faith in Richardson to raise his level. Diagnosis: Durant and James will steal the headlines, but Richardson may end up providing more value.
