2. Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

It’s become clear over the past few weeks that the Oklahoma Sooners defense is problematic. In matchups against Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Kansas, the Sooners defense has conceded 46, 47 and 40 points, respectively. With Kyler Murray at the helm, however, the Sooners have gone unbeaten over that stretch as the star quarterback has put up tremendous numbers recently and throughout the year as a whole.

On Saturday in the win over the Jayhawks, Murray finished going 21-of-32 for 272 yards, two touchdowns and on interception. His day was truly bolstered, however, by his eight rushes for 99 yards and the three trips over the goal line he made with his legs. With 34 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns for the year, he’s been undeniably one of the most impressive individual performers all season.

1. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Despite the worry over his knee after the Mississippi State game, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was in action against The Citadel this week and, despite the fact that Nick Saban’s team found themselves tied 10-10 at halftime against a team that they were favored over by more than 50 points, the sophomore signal-caller still went out and had a banner day.

Tua finished the day going 18-of-22 for 340 yards and three touchdowns while characteristically avoiding throwing interceptions. For good measure, Tagovailoa was also able to find the end zone with his legs, rushing for 37 yards and his fourth score of the day as well. In truth, it appeared that only missing time would dethrone the Bama quarterback, and as he put on another strong show, he may have this race locked up.
