Things could have gone better for Minnesota on Saturday, but technically things could have gone worse for it too. The Golden Gophers went toe-to-toe with the Northwestern Wildcats, who have become notoriously difficult to beat in recent weeks, but had a hard time moving the ball. Now, a once promising season is almost over and the Golden Gophers will be looking for bowl eligibility against Wisconsin this week.

Purdue got into a shootout with Wisconsin and the team that is not accustomed to winning shootouts actually won. The Wisconsin Badgers beat Purdue at its own game and now Purdue needs to beat Indiana to make it to a bowl game. That should be doable for this team, but this group could have accomplished more this season. But, if Purdue does make it to a bowl game and can hold onto Jeff Brohm, this team could be trending upward moving forward.

The Maryland Terrapins had everything they needed to beat Ohio State and get another monumental upset for the 2018 season. Maryland had a fast start, forced three turnovers, and was moving up and down the field with ease on offense.

And yet, Maryland didn’t win. In overtime, after scoring a touchdown, the Terps decided to go for two and win the game. Maryland didn’t get those two points and didn’t win the game. Now, Matt Canada and this team need to upset Penn State on the road to get into a bowl game. That’s something that can be done as the Nittany Lions certainly didn’t look good against Rutgers this past weekend.
