High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Joel Embiid (vs PHO – $11,500): Needs 50.9 fantasy points. Embiid is expected to play despite dealing with a hand injury. And not only will he play, but he’s going up against Ayton, who he created a rivalry with over the offseason. And when Embiid creates a rivalry with someone, that typically means a big game from him. The Suns are going to feed him and he’s going to dominate. Diagnosis: High salary and maybe the minutes won’t be there. But it’s personal for Embiid, which is bad for the Suns.

Nikola Jokic (at MIL – $9,500): Needs 42 fantasy points. With their lack of size, Jokic typically dominates the Bucks. He had 39.2 fantasy points in 29 minutes against them on Nov. 11. He averages 1.65 FPPM in his last three games against Milwaukee. Assuming he plays over 30 minutes, this is a game where he should post plenty of points to go along with strong numbers in other categories. Diagnosis: Proven matchup and a high ceiling.

Steven Adams (at SAC – $7,700): Needs 34.1 fantasy points. Adams has been strong in the recent games with Westbrook out. He’s become a bigger part of the offense and he’s typically good for more than enough rebounds and a handful of defensive plays. If Westbrook is out, his job becomes easier, but maybe the scoring and rebounding drop a bit. He’s still a strong third option with a good matchup. Diagnosis: Much like George, he’ll get his numbers with Westbrook and his ceiling goes up without Westbrook.
