Breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week 12
By Jon Dove
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
Stats: 13/19, 150 passing yards, 27 carries for 117 rushing yards
The Baltimore Ravens developed a very creative game plan this week in a game they needed to win. This plan included having rookie Lamar Jackson use his legs more often than his arm to attack a weak Cincinnati Bengals defense.
Jackson embraced the plan of attack and put up some impressive numbers. He has a chance to get another shot this week if Joe Flacco isn’t healthy.
Even if Flacco makes it back into the lineup, you want to put a claim in for the dynamic Jackson. The Ravens season isn’t going as planned and they’re on edge of the playoff race. If they were to fall out of contention then it’s likely Jackson will get more work.
Jackson’s passing skill set is a work in progress, but obviously he can be a difference maker with his legs. This is great for fantasy purposes because you get the best of both worlds.
The key to his fantasy upside is the fact that Jackson doesn’t hesitate to run with the football. He seems to understand that this will need to be part of his game until be becomes a more refined passer.
