Start: Peyton Barber, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered yet another disappointing loss this past weekend. However, Peyton Barber had one of his best games of the season. The third year running back topped the 100 yard mark while averaging nearly six yards per carry.

Tampa Bay’s quarterback situation has been a disaster which could force the ball into the hands of Barber more often. The Buccaneers can’t hope to win games if their quarterbacks are throwing four interceptions.

One way to limit the interceptions is by taking the ball out of the quarterback’s hands. Barber showed this past weekend that he’s someone that could potentially move the chains on the ground.

Sit: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears

@ Detroit Lions

The Chicago Bears gave Jordan Howard another double digit carry game this past weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. However, Howard again struggled maintain a reasonable average per carry. His season average currently sits at 3.4 yards per carry which makes it tough on the offense.

Now, some of Howard’s less than ideal stats can be blamed on game flow. The Bears have a newly developed offensive attack that really spreads the ball around.

Chicago mainly uses Howard to run down the clock when the defense knows he’s getting the ball. However, he needs to start doing a little more with the touches he’s getting earlier in the game.
