4. UCF Knights

Rank: 9 | Opponent: South Florida Bulls | Time: Friday, Nov. 23, 4:15 p.m. ET

The UCF Knights have won 23-straight games as they come into the final week of the 2018 college football regular season. While it doesn’t appear that they’re about to get any more respect from the Playoff committee in regards to potentially making it into the final four of the sport, what they’ve been able to accomplish to this point has been truly remarkable. But on Friday afternoon, they should again be tested.

One of the secrets of UCF’s near-two-year run at perfection at this point is that it’s been a far from perfect showing from this team. Just earlier this season, the Knights were pushed to the brink by the Memphis Tigers. What’s more, the upset-minded Temple Owls played this UCF team much closer than the final score of that game would indicate. Now they must go on the road to Tampa to face a rival South Florida Bulls team capable of pushing them.

After being one of the final undefeated teams remaining in college football this season, South Florida has actually fallen off quite a bit, sitting at 7-4 as they enter this matchup. having said that, they are a solid defense armed with a balanced offense that should be able to put up points on a nothing-special UCF defense.

As is often the case when the Knights are involved, this could be a shootout and there’s no question that the South Florida team and fans behind them will be motivated to end the Knights’ run at two-straight perfect seasons. And because of that, you have to put UCF on upset alert once more.
