High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Paul Millsap (vs ORL – $5,900): Needs 23.9 fantasy points. Millsap has been all over the place this season, but he did have 48 fantasy points against the Timberwolves. He had 45.6 fantasy points against the Magic last season. Both teams are in different places, but the personnel is similar and it shows the kind of damage he can do. He’s a risk due to inconsistency, but the reward is high. Diagnosis: Medium risk, but very high reward.

Derrick Favors (at LAL – $5,600): Needs 22.7 fantasy points. Favors has been solid this season, hitting value in 76 percent of games. He’s been kind of inconsistent in recent games, but he’s at a nice salary and the Lakers are a good matchup. I don’t trust their frontcourt and think a player like Favors can give them a lot of trouble in the paint and on the glass. Diagnosis: Good salary and matchup. Reliable if nothing else.

Noah Vonleh (vs NO – $4,800): Needs 19.5 fantasy points. Vonleh has been over 40 fantasy points in his last two games. He had just 16.2 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Nov. 16, but he came off the bench in that game. Being a starter seems to suit him better. The minutes will be there no matter what, which is a positive sign. Diagnosis: Good salary given the minutes he’ll end up playing. High ceiling as well.
