FanDuel NFL 2018: Week 12 lineup
Running Backs: Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns- $7,500 & Marlon Mack, Indianapolis Colts- $7,000
A big reason why the Cleveland Browns knocked off the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10 was because of Chubb’s performance. The rookie running back rushed for a career high 176 yards and punched in a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 33 yards and one score.
For the second time this season, Chubb eclipsed the 100-yard mark. In both contests he found the end zone twice. Since the the Browns fired head coach Hue Jackson, Chubb has gotten the ball much more.
In eight games under Jackson’s watch, Chubb compiled 52 carries for 318 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, through two games with Gregg Williams, Chubb has 42 carries for 261 yards and two scores.
Since Williams took over, Chubb is averaging 21 carries, 130.5 yards and one touchdown per game. The Browns enter Week 12 fresh off their bye week and travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals.
Cincinnati has allowed running backs to rush for 1,201 yards and 10 touchdowns, fourth in the NFL. On average, the position group is scoring 29.3 fantasy points, third most in the league. The Bengals have given up 100 yards on the ground in five of their last six games. In consecutive weeks, running backs have averaged close to six yards per carry.
If the Browns want to have any chance at beating the Bengals this week, they will need to rely on Chubb to have a big day.
Andrew Luck is this week’s quarterback and his running back also makes the list. In last week’s victory, Mack carried the ball 16 times for 61 yards and one touchdown. The second-year back finished the game with 13.4 fantasy points. He is averaging 15.48 fantasy points per game.
Just a few weeks ago, Mack compiled at least 120 yards on the ground in back to back games. In those contests he had four total touchdowns. Mack is averaging 78.5 rushing yards per game, fifth best amongst the position group.
To put that into perspective, he is averaging more yards on the ground per game than Kareem Hunt, Saquon Barkley and Joe Mixon.
Mack faces the Dolphins, who similar to the Bengals, have had trouble containing running backs. Miami has allowed 1,221 yards, third most in the NFL, and nine touchdowns. In three of their last four games, the Dolphins have allowed at least one running back per team rush for more than 100 yards.
