FanDuel NFL 2018: Week 12 lineup
Wide Receivers: Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers- $7,900; JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers- $7,200 & Josh Gordon, New England Patriots- $6,800
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making a switch at quarterback once again. Earlier in the week Tampa confirmed that they were benching Ryan Fitzpatrick and going back to Jameis Winston.
Fitzpatrick was benched in Week 11’s game against the New York Giants after throwing three interceptions. Winston came in relief and threw for 199 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
One receiver who was the recipient of one of Winston’s touchdown passes was, Evans. The fifth-year wideout caught six passes for 120 yards and one score. He also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown, with less than two minutes remaining in the first half. He finished the game with a season high 27 fantasy points.
Evans leads the Buccaneers in all receiving categories. He has 56 receptions for 957 yards and five touchdowns. He is sixth in the NFL amongst receivers yards, ahead of studs like; Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham.
This week, Evans welcomes the San Fransisco 49ers to Tampa Bay. The 49ers have given up 14 touchdowns to the position group, tied for fourth-most in the league. In Evan’s lone game against the 49ers, he caught eight passes for 96 yards and two scores.
Another receiver who is having a big season is Smith-Schuster. He currently has 64 receptions for 886 yards and three scores. Last week against Jacksonville, the second-year wideout eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season.
He finished the afternoon with 14.4 fantasy points and has scored double digit fantasy points in three straight games for the second time this season. Smith-Schuster has tallied at least 10+ fantasy points in eight of his 10 games.
Smith-Schuster and the Steelers travel to Denver in Week 12. The Broncos have allowed at least one receiver to compile at least 89 yards in their last three games. All three of those receivers scored at least one touchdown. The Broncos will have their hands full trying to contain James Conner and teammate Antonio Brown. That will allow for Smith-Schuster to have a big day.
The final receiver in Week 12’s lineup is Gordon. Since being traded to the Patriots, Gordon has 26 receptions for 477 yards and two touchdowns. It is evident Gordon and Tom Brady are starting to get on the same page.
Prior to last week’s bye, Gordon was targeted a season high 12 times in a loss against the Titans. He caught four passes for 81 yards. In Week 9, he caught five passes for 130 yards and a touchdown against the Packers.
The Patriots hit the road and take on the New York Jets in Week 12. In one career game against Gang Green, Gordon compiled nine receptions for 97 yards.
New York’s season is spiraling out of control. Their defense has allowed receivers to obtain 1,859 yards, sixth most in the NFL, and 11 touchdowns. On average, the position group is scoring 33.3 fantasy points per game.
Gordon has been one Brady’s top targeted receivers the last two weeks and except that trend to continue.
