Dante Pettis, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Stats: four receptions, 77 yards and one touchdown

The loss of Jimmy Garoppolo obviously derailed the San Francisco 49ers entire season. They actually saw themselves as a potential playoff team, but are now trying to identify building blocks for their future.

Someone who has stood out recently is rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis. His combination of quickness and fluid movements make him tough to cover.

Pettis is not only a big-play threat, but also someone who can create separation all over the field. This past weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he showed his development as a route runner.

The 49ers offense hasn’t been the most explosive group in recent weeks, but they could change that by targeting Pettis more often. George Kittle remains the team’s top pass catcher and pulls a lot of coverage his way. This could create some favorable matchups for Pettis.

If you’re desperate at the wide receiver position than Pettis is a solid option. He has big-game potential which he flashed this past week.

However, if you are in need of a more consistent performer Pettis might not be a fit for you. Pettis has had some solid games in the past and has gone several games without making an impact. The 49ers offense as a whole also adds to the concerns.
