Breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week 13
By Jon Dove
Josh Adams, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Stats: 22 carries, 86 yards and one touchdown
Josh Adams has grabbed hold of the Philadelphia Eagles top running back spot and doesn’t appear ready to let go. He has seen workload increase and reach a season high this past weekend against the New York Giants.
Adams’ 22 carries was the most by an Eagles running back all season. The Eagles identified a weakness in the New York Giants defense and attacked.
It was interesting to see how committed the Eagles were to the run game. Over the course of the season, this is a team that put the ball in the hands of the quarterback more often than not. It has especially been the case since Carson Wentz returned.
Adams looks like a potential RB2 moving forward with a chance to be a major contributor down the stretch. His value in PPR leagues is a little less based on the fact that he doesn’t get used much in the passing game.
The Eagles face a tough schedule moving forward, but if you are desperate for running back help you can do much worse than Adams. At the very least, he’s someone who should get plenty of work.
