denver nuggets. 3. team. 73. . 13-7. Previous: 7th

A 3-0 week with wins over the Timberwolves, Magic and Thunder gives the Nuggets the edge in the game of musical chairs occurring right behind the Bucks and Raptors in these power rankings. Paul Millsap had a huge week, averaging 15.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Millsap at the top of his game is the element that can bind these Nuggets together into the best version of themselves but Denver just hasn’t been able to count on it every night.

Another key piece for Denver has been Juan Hernangomez, particularly his outside shooting. He was 7-of-17 on 3s this week and has made 43.7 percent on the season. His defensive versatility is key in holding Denver’s non-starter lineups together and his reliable shooting means the Nuggets don’t have to make a trade-off between offense and defense when they begin making substitutions.
