2019 NFL Mock Draft: Jaguars select Drew Lock
By Brad Weiss
The New York Jets hung with the New England Patriots for longer than expected on Sunday, as the game was actually tied 13-13 at the half. However, Tom Brady and company ended up putting two touchdowns on the board, and keeping the Jets out of the end zone the rest of the way, pulling away in a 27-13 victory.
For the Jets, this is another season of disappointment, and their prized first round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft is not even playing right now. Sam Darnold earned the starting quarterback job out of camp, but has been battered behind a terrible offensive line, and has not played for the Jets over the last two games.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Jets need help in all three levels of the defense, especially at cornerback. They went out and spent big money on Trumaine Johnson this past offseason, but the team would be wise to use their premium early first round draft choice on bringing in a starter for the other side in 2019.
The best cornerback in this draft class is Andraez Williams, who has been an absolute star at the position during his time with the LSU Tigers. Greedy, as he is affectionately referred to, is a guy who can straight up shut down one side of the field, and the Jets have not had two good cornerbacks in a very long time. They bolstered the safety spots in recent drafts, now its the cornerbacks turn.
