5 bold Premier League predictions: Kane wins north London derby for Spurs
2. Cardiff win battle of newly-promoted sides as they beat Wolves
Neil Warnock turned 70 this week and on Friday night he will hope that his Cardiff side can give him a belated birthday present with victory over Wolves. Cardiff and Wolves came up through automatic promotion from the Championship last season and will be desperate to stay in the top flight this season.
The Bluebirds are looking like a much better team than they did earlier on in the season whilst Wolves have struggled a bit after an impressive start. Nuno knows that his side are capable of winning this match but Cardiff definitely have the potential to take all three points here.
In the Championship last season both sides won their away fixture in this matchup although that perhaps shouldn’t have been the case for Cardiff. In their home match with Wolves the Welsh side missed two penalties, including one that was the last kick of the game.
They’ll need to be at their very best to beat Wolves though, especially considering the attacking prowess that the Black Country side possess. Cardiff have looked shaky at the back all season but now they possess a much more potent attacking threat, particularly at home where they’ve beaten both Brighton and Fulham recently.
Warnock’s side are still languishing in the relegation zone though while Wolves are eight points ahead of them in 11th place. A win here would close that gap a little and could potentially lift Cardiff out the relegation places provided results go their way this weekend.
Both sides will score in this match but Cardiff will come out on top with a 2-1 win in a battle of the promoted sides.
