1. SEC Championship, Alabama vs. Georgia (+13.5)

It has been said numerous times throughout the 2018 college football season that no teams have a shot of beating the Alabama Crimson Tide. And, considering that they face the fourth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in the SEC Championship Game and are still nearly two-touchdown favorites in the game, it feels safe to say that the oddsmakers feel the same about Nick Saban’s group.

Having said that, the truth is more akin to the simple fact that Alabama is the best team in college football. There’s no denying this, but saying that no team can beat them is simply absurd. On the right night, they have areas of their team that can be attacked to a certain degree. It just takes a great deal of talent and a great gameplan to make such a thing happen. And the Georgia Bulldogs could have that against the Tide on Saturday.

It’s worth noting that Georgia’s defense has been up-and-down this season and, with Tua Tagovailoa and the Alabama offense humming, the Bulldogs are likely to concede points. However, the Bulldogs offense is the best that the Tide have faced this season. Most specifically, their passing attack has the quarterback and weapons to exploit an Alabama secondary that has not been tested.

If Kirby Smart is able to come out with a passing-minded gameplan, I believe that they can keep pace with the Crimson Tide in this game. That might not result in an upset win for the Bulldogs — or it might — but it surely will allow them to keep things closer than a 13.5-point spread would suggest.
