Players costing $6,250 or under

Jeff Teague (vs BOS – $6,000): Needs 36.7 fantasy points. It’s been Derrick Rose who has been getting it done for the majority of the season, but the Timberwolves have found some balance since the Butler trade and Teague is more equipped to run the offense. Rose still has the higher ceiling due to his scoring ability, but Teague is more reliable at this point. Diagnosis: Matchup is good and Teague will always get the minutes. Rose isn’t bad if you’re looking for potentially more potential.

Darren Collison (at SAC – $5,400): Needs 25.1 fantasy points. Collison was at 27.25 fantasy points against the Lakers on Nov. 29. With Oladipo out for the foreseeable future, Collison is going to be a strong option moving forward. He’s been inconsistent this season, but the minutes and usage are going to be there. The Kings have crashed back down to earth a bit, but the Pacers are on a long west coast road trip. Diagnosis: Minutes and chances will be there. He’s played well on this trip.

Marcus Smart (at MIN – $4,200): Needs 19.1 fantasy points. Smart had 35.25 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Friday. He’s an inconsistent player, but some games are just built for him. And the Timberwolves fall into that category with the way they are playing right now. He can do a bit of everything and will have an impact in this one. Diagnosis: A gut feeling on this one, but Smart is coming off a strong game, which boosts my confidence.
