After the first 13 games of the season, only two points separate Watford and Leicester in the Premier League table. Watford are ninth with 20 points, while Leicester are 10th with 18 points. On Saturday, Leicester host Watford at King Power Stadium.
Leicester are unbeaten in their last four games but only picked up six points over that stretch. The Foxes settled for a 1-1 draw with Brighton in their last game. Leicester bought James Maddison in the summer to replace Riyad Mahrez, who was sold to Manchester City. While not quite as productive as Mahrez, Maddison has performed well this season, scoring three goals this season, while creating chances for Jamie Vardy, who leads the club with four goals.
Watford’s hot start to the season is long over. After winning four straight games to start the season, the Hornets have looked like a team that belongs in the lower half of the table. Watford were soundly beaten 3-0 by Liverpool in their last game. The Hornets have lost two of their last three games, picking up seven points over their last five. Roberto Pereyra has had a strong season for Watford, scoring five goals this season. However, Troy Deeney has been ice cold lately and has not scored a goal since the beginning of September.
