FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 2, 2018
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,667
Damian Lillard (at SA – $9,600): Needs 40.1 fantasy points. Lillard was down to 27.2 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Nov. 30. He’s been inconsistent this season, hitting value in just 59 percent of games. That number is a bit too low given his typical salary. But he’s shown a high ceiling and is still one of the best scorers in the league. And here’s the other thing: the Spurs are terrible right now. They haven’t played defense all season and it’s only gotten worse. Diagnosis: Fantastic matchup and should have a huge night unless things go horribly wrong.
Ben Simmons (vs MEM – $9,400): Needs 39.3 fantasy points. Simmons’ numbers have been down in recent games, but that’s due to the Sixers blowing out opponents and nothing Simmons is doing wrong. This game should not be a blowout, meaning Simmons will get the minutes to have a big game. The matchup isn’t great as the Grizzlies are one of the better defensive teams in the league. Diagnosis: Will get numbers, but maybe not quite enough to justify the salary.
Mike Conley (at PHI – $9,200): Needs 38.4 fantasy points. Conley has been fantastic in recent weeks and was up to 58 fantasy points against the Nets on Nov. 30. But Marc Gasol is questionable on Sunday. If he doesn’t play, Conley loses his safety valve and more pressure is on him. He’s good, but the extra attention will be tough. Diagnosis: If Gasol plays, take him with confidence. If Gasol doesn’t play, he’ll get more chances, but also more attention.
