Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers – $3400

The once mighty Legion of Boom may be gone but this Seattle defense is still a strong unit. They do not have the level of super star talent but they are well-coached, attacking and opportunistic. Seattle is the top priced option this week with the bad 49ers offense up next. San Francisco is giving up the fifth most sacks in the league and allowing defenses to score the fifth most fantasy points against them. This would be a better play if it was certain Nick Mullens was starting. The ceiling takes a bit of a hit if it is instead the less turnover prone C.J. Beathard at the helm.

Chicago Bears @ New York Giants – $3300

The NFL defense that has carried teams in fantasy this season has been the Chicago Bears. Another defensive touchdown on Thanksgiving gives them six on the season, two more than any other team. Chicago may get a chance for another at New York this weekend. The Giants defense features loads of playmakers. It also features an aging quarterback who collapses when touched and a very weak offensive line. The Bears defense should dominate Eli Manning and that line all game, which means turnover chances. Given the weather in New Jersey today, this game could be a low scoring affair that favors the defense. Chicago should be a lock as the most used defense.

Value Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans vs New York Jets – $3000

The Tennessee Titans do not look like a strong defense after that showing Monday night. Good news awaits with a matchup against the Jets though. New York does not have anywhere near the talent on offense that Houston does. With the injured Sam Darnold, injured Josh McCown or Joe Webb under center, it may not matter. The talented front seven of Tennessee can control the game and get after whoever is back there. This is a great matchup for Tennessee and one of the few chances you may get to play this defense.
