Running Backs: Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers- $8,600 & Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers- $7,600.

The Carolina Panthers lost their Week 12 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, but McCaffrey proved he is Carolina’s most explosive player on offense, once again.

McCaffrey carried the ball 17 times for 125 yards and one touchdown. He averaged a season high 7.3 yards per carry. He also caught all 11 passes thrown to him for 112 yards and a score.

In the fourth quarter, McCaffrey recorded every single yard (75 yards) on the Panthers drive, which game them a 27-20 lead.

The second-year back finished the game with 41.2 fantasy points, the most amongst any player in Week 12. This was the first time in his career where he compiled 100 yards rushing and receiving. McCaffrey became the first player in Panthers history to record 100+ yards in both categories in a single game.

McCaffrey’s 2018 campaign started off slow, with only one touchdown through the first six weeks of the season. He has scored nine touchdowns in his the last five games and has a very good chance to add to that total this week.

The Panthers take on Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the second and final time this season. In their first meeting, McCaffrey compiled 157 total yards on 22 touches and scored two touchdowns.

Opposing backs have scored 280.5 total fantasy points against the Buccaneers defense. They have allowed only 975 yards on the ground, but 13 touchdowns, second-most in the league. The Buccaneers have also given up 57 receptions, 545 yards and four touchdowns to running backs.

If McCaffrey can’t get it going on the ground, he will certainly be able to move the ball in the pass-game.

The Green Bay Packers have dropped four of their last five games and remain winless on the road. Luckily for them, they return to Lambeau Field in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.

One of the Packers’ lone bright spots this season has been the emergence of Jones. He leads the team in rushing with six yards per carry, 606 total yards and six touchdowns. In last week’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Jones carried the ball a season-high 17 times for 72 yards and one touchdown.

He finished the evening with 16.8 fantasy points. Jones has had at least 16 fantasy points in three consecutive weeks. During that stretch he is averaging 24.1 fantasy points.

Arizona has surrendered 1,454 rushing yards to opposing backs and 14 touchdowns; most in the NFL. They are one of four teams that have allowed 300+ fantasy points to the position group. On average running backs are scoring 29.1 fantasy points against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals have given up 100+ yards to backs in nine of their 12 total games. As long as Jones gets the ball enough, he will be productive.
