FanDuel NFL: Week 13 lineup
FLEX: Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens- $6,400
Defense: Miami Dolphins- $4,100
Lamar Jackson will not be the only Baltimore Raven in my Week 13 lineup. Fellow rookie Edwards makes the cut because of how impressive he has been the last two weeks.
Last week in his first career start against the Oakland Raiders, Edwards carried the ball 23 times for 118 yards. Edwards was slated into the started role because Alex Collins was out with a foot injury.
A week before, the former Rutgers back compiled 115 yards on 17 carries and one score. In both games, Edwards averaged at least five yards a carry.
To put that into perspective, Edwards is the second leading rusher out of all of the running backs on the Ravens’ roster and he has played in only six games this year. Collins, who leads the team in rushing with 411 yards, has nearly double the amount of carries as Edwards and has played in four more games than the rookie.
The Ravens take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13 and this could be another great opportunity for Edwards. On average, running backs are scoring 28.1 fantasy points per game against the Falcons, fourth most in the NFL.
Atlanta has given up 1,084 yards and 10 scores on the ground and 695 yards and four touchdowns through the air to the position group. In their last three games, they have allowed a single back to rush for at least 89 yards. During that stretch, two running backs surpassed 120 yards and both scored.
Collins’ status is unknown for the game, but it will be difficult for the Ravens to sit Edwards after watching him the last two weeks.
Even though the Buffalo Bills are on a two-game winning streak, the Miami is the defensive pick for Week 13. Despite winning their last two games, the Bills are still only averaging 14.6 points per game, 31st in the league.
Buffalo is one of two teams who are averaging less than 160 passing yards per game. Miami’s defense is full of ball hawks. As a unit, they have 17 interceptions, second in the NFL. They are averaging nearly two interceptions a game.
In addition Miami is one of three teams to return a kickoff for a touchdown. Bottom line, Miami will be able to create turnovers and will be able to keep Buffalo out of the end zone for a majority of the game.
