Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons

The Baltimore Ravens are having some issues at the running back position with Alex Collins on injured reserve and starter Gus Edwards questionable for Week 13 with an ankle injury. That questionable tag makes Edwards a somewhat risky play because he could see a reduction in snaps, assuming he plays.

Edwards returned to practice on Thursday, so it would be surprising for the Ravens to hold him out of action in Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons, who are ripe for the picking. With Lamar Jackson remaining at quarterback after winning his first two starts with Joe Flacco, who is still not 100-percent, injured, the Ravens will wisely give the Falcons a heavy dose of their rushing attack.

That bodes well for Edwards because he sure isn’t losing a significant amount of carries to Kenneth Dixon and Ty Montgomery, even if he isn’t at full strength. Montgomery has barely been involved in the Ravens offense since being acquired from the Green Bay Packers, while Dixon hasn’t played since Week 1 and was only recently activated from the injured reserve.

Meanwhile, Edwards has posted at least 115 rushing yards in each of his first two starts for the Ravens this season, as the undrafted free agent rookie has been one of fantasy football’s biggest breakout stories this year.
