Players costing $6,667 or under

Jarrett Allen (vs CLE – $6,300): Needs 27.8 fantasy points. Allen was down to 10.6 fantasy points against the Wizards on Dec. 1. I’m not too concerned as the Nets were coming off a double OT game and no one played well. Allen can be inconsistent, but he did have 30.1 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Oct. 24. And they are still the Cavaliers. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but inconsistent. The matchup is good.

Mason Plumlee (at TOR – $5,800): Needs 25.6 fantasy points. Plumlee had 20.1 fantasy points in 14 minutes against the Blazers on Nov. 30. It’s tough to contribute in a lack of minutes, but he’s shown that if he can get 18-20 minutes, he can be a valuable option. He should get some extra minutes in this game. Diagnosis: As long as his minutes are up, he’ll find a way to contribute, but his minutes are no guarantee.

Nerlens Noel (at DET – $4,000): Needs 17.7 fantasy points. Noel had 34.2 fantasy points in 11 minutes against the Hawks on Nov. 30. He doesn’t get a ton of minutes but does a nice job of just making plays when he is in the game. The Pistons struggle against opposing centers. There’s not much to like at the center position as far as value, but Noel has at least proven to contribute. Diagnosis: An option.
