3. Bruce Arians

Arians has said the Browns are the only team he’d consider returning to coaching for, but all that’s really done is let in the idea he could be a candidate for other upcoming NFL openings. He stepped down as Arizona Cardinals head coach after last season, and is working this season as a game analyst for CBS.

As Rodgers nears the back end of his career, having celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday, Arians has recent relevant experience with an older quarterback. Carson Palmer had three of the best years of his career under Arians at age 34 (2013), 36 (2015) and 37 (2016). Arians’ earlier work with Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck adds to the credibility of his resume, which will mean something to Rodgers and thus should mean something to the Packers in their search for a new head coach.

Arians is 66 years old, and he dealt with some health issues during his time as Arizona’s head coach. But if a year out of coaching (but still close to the game in a broadcast booth) has revived him and he’s willing to listen, the Packers should automatically have a lot of interest.
