Players costing $6,667 or under

Jakob Poeltl (at UTA – $4,200): Needs 18.6 fantasy points. Poeltl had 21.6 fantasy points in 13 minutes against the Blazers on Dec. 2. His minutes are all over the place and you’d think he would play a bit more given his talent. It’s pretty amazing that he hasn’t gotten a real chance in San Antonio, but Gregg Popovich is smarter than me. Diagnosis: Been sort of reliable in recent contests. But you’re better off saving the money and just dropping the score than going with Poeltl.

Mo Bamba (at MIA – $3,700): Needs 16.4 fantasy points. Bamba gets solid enough minutes to where he can produce a little something. He’s also shown a high ceiling. He had 27.4 fantasy points against the Heat in the season opener if you’re looking for some confidence in him. He’s not a great option, but he’s shown to have some value throughout the season. Diagnosis: An option.

Kosta Koufos (at PHO – $3,500): Needs 15.5 fantasy points. Koufos returned to the lineup and had 10.9 fantasy points against the Pacers on Dec. 1. Maybe Koufos gets extra time in a potential blowout? He was getting enough minutes prior to his calf injury to where he had a couple of solid outings. But who knows where he fits into the Kings lineup at this point. Diagnosis: It’s the Suns and he’s had some decent games.
