Curtis Samuel, WR, Carolina Panthers

Largely kept off of the fantasy radar due to injuries or a crowd of offensive weapons ahead of him, Carolina Panthers playmaker Curtis Samuel could be the final piece to a fantasy football lineup during the playoffs.

Samuel is coming off of his most action-packed week, as he hauled in six passes for 88 yards on 11 targets against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was Samuel’s second game of the season with five receptions or 50 receiving yards, but it doesn’t look like his last big game either.

Anyone who has watched Samuel play, including back at Ohio State, can attest to his explosiveness. He offers an extra spark to a Panthers offense that boasts rookie star DJ Moore, elite weapon Christian McCaffrey, the capable Devin Funchess, and superstar quarterback Cam Newton.

Quietly, Samuel has matched Funchess with four touchdown receptions this season, and with Greg Olsen out for the season, Samuel could continue to benefit after receiving 11 targets. Funchess’s own injury battles have helped Samuel, and while Funchess will be closer to 100-percent next week, Samuel has the juicier matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

With two carries for 33 yards over the past two games, Samuel also has the potential to bag a couple of fantasy points on the ground.
