Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Stats: five receptions, 76 yards and seven targets

The Dallas Cowboys suddenly find themselves in first place and most of their success has been due to the defense. That unit is playing at an extremely high level which has taken some pressure off the under performing offense.

Dallas’ offense has made some improvements over the past few weeks. Their passing attack has become more potent with Amari Cooper now in the mix.

The extra attention heading Cooper’s way has open things up for rookie Michael Gallup. He is coming off a solid performance which included another long receptions. Gallup isn’t the most consistent player, but those big plays make him a boom type player.

Typically rookie wide receivers take some time to develop. This is the point in the season where we see them start to become more comfortable. Gallup could be at that point and starting to hit his stride.

Overall, Gallup is a high-upside type of pickup. If you’re still alive in your fantasy league you are likely in the playoffs. So, it’s going to be tough to really trust Gallup.

However, it is possible that the injury bug has struck your team and you desperately need help at wide receiver. Those A.J. Green owners are likely scrambling for more depth.
