Justin Jackson, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Stats: eight carries, 63 yards and one touchdown

Justin Jackson saw a lot more action this week Melvin Gordon out with an injury. Gordon’s status remains up in the air for the next few weeks. Look for Jackson to continue to share the workload with Austin Ekeler.

It came as bit of a surprise to see Jackson get as many touches as he did. Ekeler has performed well all season and appeared ready to take on a bigger workload.

Figuring out how Los Angeles Chargers will split the carries and targets is important. Gordon got a ton of usage throughout the year. He was equally effective as a runner and pass catcher. Both Jackson and Ekeler have the potential to have a major impact.

These aren’t guys who you would consider as RB1 fantasy options like Gordon. However, if one emerges as more of a go-to back they would be a great option in the flex. Personally, I’m still leaning in Ekeler’s direction.

Jackson’s workload this past weekend is something to note. He’s worth an add if you’re looking for a high-risk high-reward type of player. However, if Ekeler is dropped in your league you should also consider adding him to your roster.

Los Angeles has a strong enough offensive group that both players could emerge as solid contributors to your fantasy team.
