50. . Linebacker. Kentucky. Josh Allen. 5. player

The Detroit Lions lost again on Sunday, and their bad season has become so much worse. The bottom line is, they have a rookie head coach, and while people are already calling for Matt Patricia’s head, they have to give him time to turn this franchise around, as they have not won the NFC North in 25 years.

Patricia is going to be fine as a head coach, as he has all the markings of a guy who can turn this ship around. The Lions also have a fantastic quarterback in Matthew Stafford, and once they get Kerryon Johnson back running the ball, they should win a couple of their last four games, landing them within the top-10.

With that pick, Detroit should look to get better on the defensive side of the ball, and Josh Allen from Kentucky would be a nice selection at No. 5. Allen is a guy who can really get the edge in the pass rush, and with Ezekiel Ansah’s contract coming up, they may want to replace him with Allen for the long-term.

Allen continues to move up the draft boards, and when you look at what he can bring to a team, he is likely headed towards the beginning of the first round. A linebacker who can come up and play defensive end, Allen is going to be a beast at the NFL level, and the Lions need more young, aggressive talent on defense.
